We provide Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares of fresh, locally grown produce direct from our farm to individuals and families in the upcountry Maui areas. Our 2015 CSA program runs for 16 weeks, from approximately May through August (actual start date will depend upon weather). Milk and Honey Farm’s CSA is unique because of the breadth of products, both produced on our farm and locally-sourced, that are included in CSA membership.
Milk and Honey Farm is committed to sustainable farming – we do not use any synthetic, non-organic herbicides or pesticides. As part of our sustainable farming practices, we fertilize our growing fields only with compost made from organic matter (e.g., leaves, straw, hay, spent vegetables and flowers) combined with aged manure from our livestock. Each week, we survey our fields and harvest the crops at their peak flavor and freshness.
We offer two CSA options that offer our customers the greatest opportunities for flexibility, personal choice and convenience while still receiving nutritious, fresh, local and delicious produce and other farm products.
1) We are offering a Traditional CSA with on-farm pickup (in Kula) and neighborhood delivery drops in Makawao, Pukalani and Haiku. There will be no delivery charges for the neighborhood drops provided there are at least 10 members at each drop site. If you are interested in starting your own neighborhood delivery drop site, please contact us as soon as possible and we will see if we can arrange something with you and your neighborhood.
2) We are offering a new “Pick-Your-Own-Share” option. Members will be able to come to our East Lynn Farm in Round Hill and pick their own shares from our large produce garden on specified weekdays and evenings.
